Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Community,
It is with mixed emotions that we share with you that we have decided to dissolve our organization as of 12/31/2025. We are all aware this has been an incredibly challenging year for many reasons and nonprofit organizations have not been spared. Despite our efforts in meeting our programming and grant goals this year, we have not raised enough additional funds to continue our social connection work in this shape and form. In light of this our team has taken the opportunity to explore what is and is not serving the mission. In the long run, we have decided that a nonprofit structure is not the best fit for such a pioneering initiative. Between now and the end of the year we will be wrapping up current projects and in January will close out administration.

Social Connection helps us thrive...

Like the inner workings of a clock with many diverse parts, our individual, family, and community health and wellbeing cannot be sustained without healthy connections.

Meaningful Social Connection begins with feeling heard, seen, and valued - our very human need to belong. Add compassion and you get relationships where people can be their authentic selves and feel love and support. Through meaningful social connection we thrive in mind and body, family, and community.

Social Tinkering, a Human Connection Project, is our answer. We intentionally grow meaningful social connection, to heal and reduce isolation and loneliness, to help us all thrive. Join the Connection Movement!

Like the inner workings of a clock with many diverse parts, our individual, family, and community health and wellbeing cannot be sustained without healthy connections.
Building a Social Connection Model
Social Tinkering asks the question:
How can we intentionally grow meaningful connection for an entire community?
Through practice, trial, and error we are working to build a community level model that could be adapted and replicated in communities across the nation.
Beginning in Rutland County and Vermont, we are testing regional and statewide ideas, projects, programs, and services.
We can't fight loneliness alone!
Many people, organizations, funding partners, and businesses work on this human connection project with us! You could be part of this work too!

you can help grow thriving communities.

Our Programs
We offer several virtual and in person opportunities for people to simply get together with others, practice talking to each other, and grow community! Options range from 2 hour socials, to discussion groups, to workshops and presentations.
Our Collaboratives
In everything we do we strive to have our work guided by people's life experiences with isolation and loneliness and their impacts. We pair this in research and recommendations from around the world.
