It's the 4th Annual Light Up Rutland winter lights fundraiser and contest!

Join us in helping to raise each other's spirits during the longest and darkest days of the year. Get ready to Light Up Rutland with your lights, your hearts, and your love for the Rutland region. Everyone in Rutland County is invited to participate; decorators, light-peepers, voters, local sponsors and partners! Everyone plays a role in making this bright and fun seasonal event a huge success.

This year's Light Up Rutland fundraising will go towards helping us to increase our social events and support the opening of a Community Living Room. What the heck is a Community Living Room? Imagine a fun, comfy, affordable, and inclusive place where anyone can go to hang out and meet up with friends just to catch up, or make new friends; where socializing is the priority! Participate in a variety of ways! Register your winter lights to be added to our 2023 Lights Map, get out and vote for your favorites, and/or simply donate to support the event and our work. Even a $5 donation builds connection and makes an impact!

 

Here at Social Tinkering, we have conversations daily with our fellow Rutlanders about the frustrations and struggles that many of our friends are living with and that many of our friends are working passionately to help solve. We believe that feeling alone and like no one cares are at the root of the many social struggles we face as human beings and the Rutland region is feeling this deeply right now. As we begin our 4th season of Light Up Rutland, we are reflecting on and acknowledging the difficulties our fellow people are facing. This winter, help us to renew spirits and raise hope again by showing each other that we are here for each other. As neighbors, co-workers, and classmates we can show our support and kindness for each other with simple social connection gestures that can make a world of difference.​

STEP 2 - DECORATORS REGISTER!

All Decorators Extraordinaire are invited to REGISTER to be added to our

Light Up Rutland 2023 Lights Map. Registration opens November 15th!

Decorators throughout Rutland County are encouraged to register and compete!

2023 Categories to Enter:

 

Household Decorators

• Any household in Rutland County

• $20 Registration Fee

• Compete to win awesome 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes!

• The 1st place winner will receive a trophy!

• You can also just register to be on our map and not compete! ($5 registration fee)

 

Neighborhood Decorators​

• Coordinate with your neighbors to light up the whole neighborhood!

• $50 Registration Fee

• Compete to win the 2023 "BEST DECORATED NEIGHBORHOOD" bragging rights!

• Grow an awesome sense of community among your neighbors

Business/Organization Decorators

• Any business or organization in Rutland County

• $50 Registration Fee

• Compete to win the 2023 "BEST DECORATED BIZ/ORG" trophy and bragging rights!

School Decorators

• Free Registration - but make sure to register!

• Work together in your school community to compete and win the illustrious

      prize of "BEST DECORATED SCHOOL" and trophy!

Non-Voter Household

• $5 Registration Fee to add your home to our map 

• Not part of the competition

 

**If you are an INDOOR decorator, make sure to send us your photos and videos

and we'll be sure your beautiful lights are posted for all to enjoy and vote on!

everyone's spirits to be lit up by the beauty! Registration ends Midnight, December 8th.

STEP 3 - GO LIGHT PEEPING!

Starting December 9th through January 28th, go light peeping!

1. Download the Light Up Rutland 2023 Lights Map from our website.

2. Grab your family or a friend and head out for a cozy drive with some cocoa and your camera.

3. Keep track of all of your favorite Decorators so you can vote later!

REMEMBER - Decorators can't win if you don't vote!

Business/Org and School displays!

STEP 4 - VOTE! - VOTERS WIN TOO!

Come back to this website at the end of your night out and vote for your favorite

registered lights decorators to help them win a prize for lighting up your holiday!
